Youths under the agies of Kwara central youths for Kwara north agenda 2027, have thrown their weights behinde the clanour for the zoning of 2027 governorship seats of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to Kwara north senatorial district.
The group comprises youths from the four local government areas that made up the Ilorin emirate namely Asa, Ilorin East, Ilorin west and Ilorin south.
The are calling on the speaker of the state’s house of assembly, Honourable Saliu Yakubu Danladi (SYD) to contest the APC governorship seat come 2027.
To his end, the group has fixed the 11th of April 2026, for a solidarity rally to canvass support for the speaker as the preferred APC governorship candidat.
They also announced the automatic transformaton of the group- Kwara Central Youth for Kwara north agenda to Kwara cenral youth for SYD (Saliu Yakubu Danladi) as governor.
Addressing a press conference held at the Kwara north House , Ilorin, on Monday, cordinator of the group, Architect Idris Olaolu, said their decision to support the clamour for zoning to Kwara south and the choice of Hon. Speaker, was born out of their convinction in the principles of “fairness ,equity and justice”, having consulted widely with all stakeholders.
He said the youths are also convinced that their future and that of Kwara is secured with Hon Danladi if elected as the next governor of the state saying he would continue with the good jobs of the incumbent governor , mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“We are hereby as a Kwara central Youth for Kwara north agenda 2027 putting a clarion call to Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi to contest the next governor of Kwara state come 2027. And we shall deploy all our contacts, connections and resources to actualize this.This endorsement is not only symbolic, it is strategic, and backed by the collective voice of youths across Kwara central who believe in competence, capacity, and credible leadership,” he said.
