Renowned professional and Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Qs. Theophilus Ayo Apère (FNIQS) has officially declared his intention to contest for the Federal House of Representatives seat in the 2027 General Elections.
Speaking during a Stakeholders engagement on Monday, Apère distanced himself from the traditional politician label, describing himself instead as a servant-leader while unveiling the “Ayo Apère Pact”, which he described as a binding contract between himself and the constituents.
“I stand before you today not as a politician seeking power, but as a servant ready to work,”He said while making his official declaration.
“The Ayo Apère Pact is not just a campaign promise, it is a contract. I am signing it today, and I ask you to sign it with me by supporting this aspiration. Together, we will build a future we can all be proud of.” He added
Addressing the frustrations of many who have lost faith in the political class, he urged them not to give up on hope.
In his words; “I understand your frustration. But do not give up on change. Give me the opportunity to serve, and I promise I will not let you down.” He added.
Unlike many who run on rhetoric, Qs. Apère emphasized that his candidacy is built on a documented roadmap for development with his priorities focusing on building strong partnerships with ministries and agencies to attend to the yearnings of the people, Improving facilities and ensuring access for all, executing Targeted programs for youth and women whilst Leveraging local and international organizations to bring resources to the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency.
The declaration was bolstered by strong goodwill messages from prominent community leaders and political heavyweights. Among those who spoke includes, Hon. Bayo Ige, Alhaji Ahmed Ekundayo Elemosho Adeyi of Share Land, Asiwaju of Share Land, Elder Hon. Labelabe, among others.
These leaders took turns to laud the aspirant’s professional track record and his family’s legacy of philanthropy, noting that his entry into the race brings a needed level of discipline and technical expertise to the APC fold.
Qs. Apère vowed to work in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the state administration to ensure that federal resources are effectively channeled to the constituency.
