The All Progressives Congress in Kwara State today reelected the Prince Sunday Fagbemi-led executive committee for the next four years.
Prince Fagbemi emerged alongside thirty-five others as members of the state executive council of APC through a consensus arrangement at the state congress held in Ilorin.
In his acceptance speech, Prince Fagbemi pledged that his team would lead by example and work with everyone to strengthen the party.
Prince Fagbemi thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, party leaders, elders and delegates for the confidence reposed in him and other elected officials.
Addressing the party faithful, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq explained that the party had raised the bar of governance and had done exceedingly well in different sectors of the economy.
Ahead of the party’s primaries, Governor AbdulRazaq called for a healthy competition among the aspirants and encouraged victorious members to carry along those that do not succeed as a family.
The congress was attended by Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi; Senators Lola Ashiru, Sadiq Umar and Saliu Mustapha; House of Reps members; members of the state House of Assembly; cabinet members; former members of the National Assembly, former Minister, Alhaji Bio Ibrahim; and several other party leaders.
Our Government House Correspondent, Abdulrosheed Okiki reports that the congress was conducted by members from the national secretariat of APC led by Alkali Alebe, and witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
