Introduction
The Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency remains one of the most culturally diverse and politically influential blocs in Kwara State, situated in the southern part of the state and considered the heart of the Igbomina and Ekiti-speaking communities. It consists of four discrete local government areas: Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun, and Oke-Ero. Each has its historical identity with its respective traditional institutions and sociopolitical structures, coupled with grassroots political culture.
It is one of the strongholds in the Kwara South Senatorial District. Since Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999, this constituency has helped set the political tone of the senatorial district. The effervescent representatives it produced have come from diverse backgrounds in administration, public service, activism, business, and community development. These representatives have carried out their constituents’ mandates in the National Assembly by contributing to debates, sponsoring bills, attracting federal projects, and serving as a bridge between the federal government and their constituents in the rural and urban communities.
This article presents a comprehensive historical list of those who have represented Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero in the Federal House of Representatives from 1999 to date.
