Senator Lola Ashiru is an accomplished architect and entrepreneur with over four decades of experience in Real estate development, Urban planning, Housing infrastructure, and Construction management.
He is the Founder and CEO of Capital Projects Limited (1984 – 2018) – a multi-disciplinary real estate firm that delivered landmark residential, commercial, and institutional projects in Lagos, Abuja, and across West Africa. A registered architect and fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (FNIA), he sat on the boards of several housing and construction firms before transitioning full-time into politics.
Arc. Ashiru’s political trajectory is marked by steady ascent from party faithful to principal officer of the Senate:
While Senator Ashiru has consistently rejected zoning of the Kwara governorship ticket and insisted the race remains open to all qualified candidates from any district, his stature as Deputy Senate Leader, his roots in Kwara South, and repeated public statements that “we have competent people everywhere who can govern this state in 2027” have fueled speculation about possible higher ambition. He remains a pivotal figure in Kwara APC politics and a vocal advocate for merit-based, non-zoned contests.
