Professor Muritala Olakitan Awodun is a renowned Nigerian academic, business economist, entrepreneurship educator, revenue management expert, and public servant. A distinguished scholar-practitioner, he is widely respected for transforming revenue administration in Kwara State and for his contributions to entrepreneurship education and fiscal policy reforms at the national level.
He is the Founder and Chief Executive of Fiftyfifty Institute Limited and the Muritala Awodun Widows and Orphans Foundation (MAWOF), through which he sponsors orphans’ education and empowers widows with business start-up support.

Professor Muritala Awodun formally declared his intention to contest the Kwara South Senatorial seat in 2027 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
