2027 Political Outlook

Professor Fatai Aremu enters the 2027 race as the PDP candidate for Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, challenging incumbent APC representative Hon. Muktar Tolani Shagaya.

His candidacy gives the PDP an opportunity to present a more experienced academic and professional profile to voters in the constituency. His campaign will likely focus on effective representation, human capital development and improved opportunities for constituents.

The major challenge for Aremu will be overcoming the advantage of incumbency and the APC’s existing political structure. His ability to mobilise the PDP grassroots base, attract undecided voters and present a compelling alternative to the incumbent will be critical to his chances in 2027.
