Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo enters the 2027 Ilorin East/Ilorin South Federal Constituency race with a combination of engineering expertise, private-sector experience and high-level executive experience in the Kwara State Government.

Unlike many first-time legislative candidates, Olododo is seeking election after holding several significant government positions, including responsibility for agriculture, social investment, solid minerals and public infrastructure. His supporters are therefore likely to campaign on his record of executive delivery and his familiarity with government processes.

His experience at KWASSIP gives him exposure to social intervention and poverty-reduction programmes, while his time in the Works Ministry provides him with experience in infrastructure planning and project supervision. His background in agribusiness also gives him an additional connection to entrepreneurship and youth employment.

The major test for Olododo will be translating his record in government into grassroots electoral support across Ilorin East and Ilorin South. As a serving political figure within the APC structure, he will also be required to defend the administration’s record while presenting a distinct legislative agenda to voters.
