Biography

Hon. Dr. Mopelola Abdulmalik Bashir is a Nigerian politician, women’s rights advocate, educationist, social crusader, and grassroots mobilizer from Kwara State. A prominent figure in the Otoge Movement that led to the 2019 political change in Kwara, she is widely recognized for championing gender inclusion, youth empowerment, and progressive governance. She served as Commissioner for Women Affairs under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and has been at the forefront of efforts to secure greater female representation in Kwara politics.

She has led think tanks on the future of politics and governance in Kwara and continues to push for increased women’s participation in elective offices.
